Ancala: 85259

Ancala is named after the large golf community located here. Other popular communities in this area include Scottsdale Mountain and Stonegate. Home prices are slightly less in this upscale enclave than neighborhoods farther north in Scottsdale. The Mayo Clinic is the area’s biggest employer.

Fountain Hills: 85268

Fountain Hills is the Valley’s farthest northeastern suburb. The town is situated between the Fort McDowell Reservation, the Salt River Reservation and Scottsdale. The iconic fountain can be seen for miles away. And residents have great view of Four Peaks. Homes are affordable for the luxury market. Golf courses are plentiful.

Paradise Village: 85032

The Paradise Village area in Phoenix is home to Paradise Valley Mall, a community college, many neighborhoods that draw families, golf courses and plenty of parks. This neighborhood borders pricey Paradise Valley and is also near a couple of mountain preserves.

Kierland: 85254

Kierland has high-end shopping and homes. The Westin Kierland resort and spa and Kierland Commons, an upscale, mixed-use outdoor space, are both located here. The area draws prominent office tenants, too. Though it has a Scottsdale address, most of Kierland is actually in the city of Phoenix.

Scottsdale Airpark/Northsight: 85260

Scottsdale Airpark/Northsight is home to Scottsdale Municipal Airpark, a hub for private jets and companies. Northsight is a popular park. Many houses here are in the early stucco style with large desert yards. Loop 101 bisects this neighborhood.

Scottsdale 85255: 85255

The Scottsdale 85255 area is home to the large planned communities DC Ranch, Silverleaf, Grayhawk and McDowell Mountain Ranch. Smaller neighborhoods in Pinnacle Peak and Happy Valley Ranch can also be found here. The McDowell Mountains are located next to it. Some large employers and corporate offices are based near the area’s southern edge.

Desert Mountain: 85262

Desert Mountain is named after the area’s 8,000-acre golf community with six golf courses designed by Jack Nicklaus. That development is on the northern end next to Tonto National Park. Troon and Legacy Trail golf courses and communities can also be found in this area. Look for Arizona’s only Four Seasons resort here.

Boulders: 85266

The Boulders area is named after the large desert rocks and upscale resort that can be found here. Terravita and Whisper Rock golf clubs are also part of this high-end area. The Carefree Highway starts here. Scottsdale Road is the main drag.

Rio Verde: 85263

Rio Verde is a small area tucked between McDowell Mountain Regional Park and the Tonto Forest. The Tonto Verde and Verde River golf clubs make up most of this enclave. Lots are still available for new homes here.

Old Town Scottsdale: 85251

Old Town Scottsdale is home to the eastern edge of the Arcadia neighborhood. But most of this Central Scottsdale area includes the city’s downtown with many eclectic shops and restaurants, large upscale shopping center, resorts and the waterfront area.

SoSco: 85257

SoSco (south Scottsdale) is where ASU’s innovative SkySong office hub is located. Homes in this area are older, typically with carports and desert landscaping. Many have been renovated.

McCormick Ranch: 85258

McCormick Ranch is named after one of Scottsdale’s first high-end communities. McCormick Ranch was once home to an Arabian horse farm. Many of the area’s homes built in the 1970s have been renovated. The Gainey Ranch community with the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort also is part of this neighborhood.

Indian Bend: 85250

Indian Bend is the home to a lot of the wash and greenbelt it is named after. Talking Stick Resort and Golf Club are on the eastern edge of this neighborhood that the Loop 101 runs through. Scottsdale Community College is here. There are many new and old townhomes.
